A true story of friendship, betrayal and deception
The police consider the murder of Timothy Wicks knew, the most important think Dennis Gaede, would never be split. It was much too smooth, very talkative, had the same complex is located on several occasions, he would face to believe.
Their only hope in the search for truth was Diana Fruge, was married to Gaede at the time of the killing. Hales Corners Detective Kent Schoonover Fruge often visited for six months in the house of correction to take account of their son, after North Dakota in violation of an agreement retention. Once she was released, Schoonover not give up. Finally, after two years had passed without charges against her ex-husband, Fruge transferred.
Here, the story is told police in February, told in a recent interview:
In the evening, in December 2001 on a farm in blue Gardner, ND, began unremarkably. She had a few beers with her husband and Tim Wicks, but if men started smoking pot, they brought their son for 3 years in bed upstairs. It is not the stuff of smoking, and she did not want Joshua. Two of them slept.
The next, what they knew was shaken Gaede.
“Come down. Come down.”
Half asleep, she followed her husband in the kitchen.
Wicks was placed on the ground.
“What did you do?” she asked. “The party?”
“No, I’ve killed.”
Fruge was confused. Wicks was still breathing. You do not have blood. How could he been killed?
“It is still alive,” she says.
Fruge, said Gaede received a plastic bag and went toward the man unconscious on the ground. She went to the bathroom and threw it.
They were in North Dakota because Gaede wanted to avoid sentencing to two crimes committed in Wisconsin. In order to hide, Gaede was over, given that Wicks, a friend of Hales Corners.
Gaede said he loaned Wicks identity, in order to help him. Mr. Fruge Wicks had no idea what was happening until Gaede gave him the name at the end of December 2001, to discuss.
Gaede Once the phone hangs, Fruge could say that something was wrong. During the interview, Wicks Gaede had someone with his credit card. He did not know whom.
Fruge, Gaede said the panic, that it was only a matter of time before Wicks discovered the truth. He went to Wisconsin and convince the Wicks accompany in Canada, said it could be $ 800 a week, plays drums in a bar
Wicks was in North Dakota only a few days when Fruge woke up to the shot, “she said.
My first instinct was, call the police immediately, but how could they explain that Tim was married Wicks, but another Tim Wicks was found dead on the floor of the kitchen? What, when they thought she was involved? What would happen that Joshua? What would happen if Gaede unwilling to abandon all witnesses?
If Fruge left the bathroom, Gaede was portion of the body in a Tarp, “she said. She helped drag the barn, which was converted into a three-car garage. Joshua is still asleep. On this point, remained intoxicated Fruge - on beer, bourbon, whiskey, she could get their hands.
Gaede, she called the police and tell them Wicks had tried to rape them, so they shot him. She refused.
A few days later, Gaede rented a backhoe to bury the body in the backyard, but the ground was frozen solid, “she said. He rented a U-Haul truck, which led to Powers, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where Gaede in possession of a car.
